The World's First Kid-Led AI Study

In 2025, The LEGO Group and the Alan Turing Institute launched a pioneering, child-led research campaign investigating how children aged 8–12 engage with generative AI. Through surveys and workshops grounded in ethical frameworks for children’s wellbeing, the study revealed that nearly a quarter of young learners already use AI for play and learning, offered rich insights into their perspectives and concerns, and provided evidence-based recommendations to inform educators, policymakers, and developers on designing responsible, child-centered AI experiences. I wrote the report on the study below.

The World's First Kid-Led Zine

To bring in kids' perspectives, we helped them write and design a zine in order to help convince their principals and administrators to consider them and adopt their AI policy suggestions.
